My name is John, known as MRK or Master Rope Knot or Rope Knot. I’m most likely best known for rope bondage, suspension and falling off the stage during a demo at the BBB back in the day. I’m based in the West Midlands of the UK, where I’m lucky to be spoilt by choice of play spaces, munches and wonderful people. I like rope, CnC, Hypnosis, teaching, and meeting new, interesting people. I’m lucky to have some amazing people in my life that allow me to pursue all of my main interests. I’ve always enjoyed sharing my skills, mostly rope, with new people. Watching them as the penny drops or the light bulb comes on and they get it. That’s an awesome feeling.

How did erotic hypnosis start for you?

My interest in hypnosis started nearly 10 years ago now, when I stumbled across an article and possibly a website that demonstrated hypnosis. It just amazed me: the power it offered. Being a D/s and bondage fan, the possibilities were limited only by imagination and the willingness of the person I was playing with. One of my big likes comes in with Consensual non-Consent.

I would like to point out that I always obtain consent!! But, like the old movies where the damsel is “chloroformed”? I just find that damn hot. Finding a way to recreate that safely was something I really wanted to find and hypnosis gave me that avenue. I enjoy using hypnosis as tool to boost role play ideas. Like a kidnapping, or spiked-drink or forgetting where you are, etc. As I say, the limitations are imagination and what the person is willing to do!!

What can you do with erotic hypnosis

Using hypnosis, I’ve had someone convinced that they were bound and gagged while sat in the front seat of my car. Only restraint was the seat belt but, in their mind, they were all tied up and gagged. They were slightly miffed when someone let me out of a side road and paid no attention to them, as they thought all tied up. No one can make someone do something they don’t want to do with hypnosis. And when it’s used well, it can really add to a role play, or a D/s scene or just some awesome fun in the bedroom, all with a key word or two.

I first got interested in erotic hypnosis about 10 years ago. I have to put a thank you out to Lex Lucas. He was kind enough to answer my random email by allowing me to download a file which showed his basic induction technique. That was so kind and a real boost! Also, I stole several of his ideas. Why reinvent the wheel? I should likely pay him royalties or something. He’s a bit of a hero and I hope to have the chance to meet him one day! More recently, I stumbled across “Wiseguy“- I know he’s on Fetlife, not sure about Twitter. He wrote a really good story, “Busmans Holiday” It’s basically a how-to for erotic hypnosis and hypnosis in general. From that story, I downloaded both of his books. A worthwhile read.
